Astor Place (Short Film)
I’ve always been a fan of great storytelling and therefore narrative driven film. This short film was the first project, written and produced and directed by me. The film follows a young woman who crosses path with the wrong person one dark and eerie night in the city. From the subway ambiance to the the score and sound effects, a lot of sound mixing went into this project to make this film what it is work and Its my most recent source of pride.
Community Yoga Class
Yoga is meant to be a physical and mental retreat from the burdens of the world around us and is therefore meant to to be as distraction free as possible. With that in mind, my challenge was to capture the event without being invasive or disturbing to the students. With the help of digital zooms and various overlays in post production, I was able to create intimate closeups and dynamic shot that the team was more than happy with.
BCA Global
BCA Global at Raymour and Flanigan 2022
Every year, BCA Global holds a community event at Raymour and Flanigan in Co-op City. This event is meant to inspire the community to eat healthily and to take care of their health. This event had such a big turn out that i brought on two additional videographers to help capture the day. The challenge of this shoot was trying to manage the general public while capturing good footage and b-roll.
Choices ATL 2019
Similar to BCA Global, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. is an Atlanta based organization, dedicated to fighting food insecurity. In 2019 BCA flew in to celebrate the opening of a community kitchen. As this was sometime before i joined the team, I only did the editing for this project. I took my time watch through all the footage before attempting to re-capture the events of the days.
Mindful Eating for the Beloved Community Cooking segment: Turkey and veggie Lasagna
Part of the difficulty in teaching people healthier eating habits is that most people don’t believe they can eat healthy while still enjoying their meal. Chef Alex Askew’s goal here was to demonstrate cooking several meals that were both tasty and health conscious. Thanks to St.Helenas church in the bronx, we were given a kitchen to film in. The only issue was that the lighting wasn’t great. Thanks to amazon i was able to find some powerful, yet efficient, lighting kits to help with out shoot. It was also the first time using Lavalier mics with my digital camera.

The quandary is about just that. Written by Myself, Dondre Green and Hoay Smith, This short film was shot in unison from several creators under the vision of Kevin De los Santos.
